Canva Pro - Graphic Design Software Review, BONUS: Creating a Concept Map

Canva Pro is Brilliant. At Rs 499 a month, it is the browser based tool of a graphic designer.

Today, lets design a Concept Map using the Canva Pro software.

It is so easy and within minutes, your Concept Map will be ready. I am planning to deal with the concept of "Self-Improvement" today.

In the Home Page of the Canva website, click on the epsilon dots icon which mentions More.
Then, Click on the Icon which says "Concept Map".
A new tab then opens up with the Canva work space and the related tools.
I have chosen the green colored template as it suits me best for exploring the concept of four pillars of Self Improvement.

Now start filling the boxes with the information, lo and behold the concept map is ready within minutes.

If you are not already sold about Canva Pro, read on.
Canva is an online browser based graphic design software that has taken the market enjoyed by Adobe Suite by storm. Anybody who has dealt with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of softwares know for a fact that the controls on the interface can be a bit intimidating at first. It takes time and getting familiar before one can feel comfortable and know their way around a standard graphic designing software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator.

However, Canva, is more intuitive, and a person can start designing some pretty decent posters, flyers etc with next to zero experience. Template is the name of the game when it comes to Canva. There are hundreds of thousands of templates for every possible scenario that one can imagine. How Canva curates this template is a subject of another blog post, I say.

Like for example, look at the options for the most common birthday related flyers and Greeting cards. There is one template with a birthday cake, another with party poppers, yet another with confetti, the list just goes on and on.

The font selection is also a easy experience by Canva and most popular fonts like Montserrat and Baskerville are all available which should make the cut easily for the uninitiated.

Elements - This is another great option in Canva. Ranging from a simple square to colorful paint brushstroke, there are thousands of illustrations which is sure to up the appeal of the flyer or poster.

The animated graphics which Canva offers for free is amazing for a beginner, from the humble glittering star, to a magnificent fireworks display animation, Canva has got us covered.

Now comes up the obvious question, with a user base of over 70 million, won't the market be flooded with Canva-ish material. Won't everybody else be using it and a designer runs the risk of having a design which is outdated and not exactly new, creative, original.

Canva Pro, to the rescue. What portion of the 70 million are Pro users is the question to be asked. Because the seemingly limitless options of Canva is limited for the free accounts. Once a user gets paid subscription based account, Canva Pro has so much more designs, elements, animations etc to offer which are not so easy to spot in the market.

If you want to design a menu for a restaurant, a label for a bottle, business proposal, CD cover, dust jacket you can do it all with Canva Pro. There is a resizing option which lets you use a single design for various dimensions from visiting cards to letter heads.

Class Schedules, Study Plans, Meal Plans, Vacation Planner, Calendars, etc can also be created using the Canva Pro subscription. The platform is also optimized for video content creation, with some basic split and trim editing tools that come handy for a project.

YouTube Thumbnails, Brand Logos, Instagram Posts, Facebook covers, Tik Tok posts, these are all some of the ready made templates that can be designed in a jiffy and uploaded to your favourite social media networks amongst your family and friends.

The export options are also manifold. Starting from PrintPDF (Hi Res), JPGs, Low Res, and as MP4 videos for those projects with GIFs or basic animation.

There are tons of options to create your own design team and multiple persons can login and work simultaneously on a project. All the previous designs are stored in an eponymous section, which can then be easily modified upon or just saved for reference purposes.
